Spencer M. Robinson CV

Updated: Mar 8, 2021

Over the last several years Dr. Robinson has been primarily engaged in pioneering the field of applied social neuroscience (ASN) focusing on developing a model of the mind by an understanding of the evolution of the social brain of the anatomically modern human and the socialization process through which the antecedents of behavior are constructed. From this framework Dr. Robinson has derived a model of noninvasive, nonpharmaceutical intervention addressing a broad spectrum of cognitive and behavioral problems.

Formerly a research associate with the National Institute for Applied Neurosciences, AUT University, Auckland, New Zealand, Dr. Robinson is currently Executive Director and Chief of Research and Development at the Center for Applied Social Neuroscience (CASN), Eiheiji, Fukui, Japan. As the founder of the field of applied social neuroscience (ASN), the originator of Cognitive Neuroeducation (CNE) and the Executive Director and Chief of Research and Development at CASN, Dr. Robinson’s responsibilities consist of overseeing the research, development, training, dissemination, lecturing and implementation relating to the modality of Cognitive Neuroeducation (CNE) in the recovery from cognitive and behavioral dysfunction, including mild to profound dementia, and in the optimization of learning realization.

CNE is an activities-based learning environment applying the principles of brain-mind-behavior interaction in broadly stimulating and exercising the brain, renewing or expanding cognitive acuity to enable deep, enduring learning outcomes and the formulation of self-defined, positive and relevant behavioral constructs leading to fluid social integration.
